SLV Expert inc. («SLV Expert», «we» or «our») is committed to informing you of the use that we make of the information we collect when you visit our website, visit or interact with our social media pages or when you retain our services. The current Policy aims to define and assist you in understanding our practices with respect to the collection, use, disclosure and retention of personal information.
1. Who we are and what is our commitment?
SLV Expert is a Montreal-based company specialized in developing tools with the Microsoft Office suite and in offering trainings.
SLV Expert is the «data controller» of the personal information of its website visitors and customers («you» or «your»). SLV Expert is committed to protecting the confidentiality of personal information entrusted to it. We recognize that the protection of your privacy is an essential element in the public’s trust.

Please note that the SVL Expert website may contain links to other website managed by third parties. These links are only provided for your convenience. SLV Expert has no control over third party’s website. Any personal information submitted trough these sites is subject to their privacy policies. Therefore, the fact that such a link is found on our website does not engage the responsibility of SLV Expert.
2. What is a «personal information»?
In this Policy, the term «personal information » refers to any information (regardless of its format) that relates to a person and allows, directly or indirectly, to identify them for example their name, residential address, birthdate, etc. The information that is anonymized or aggregated and cannot be directly or indirectly associated with an identifiable individual is not considered personal information.

We may collect certain personal information about you in the following circumstances:
- When you contact us, we collect your identifiers and your contact information, notably your name, phone number and email address as well as the information included in your request.
- When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.
- When you interact with our social media accounts, such as LinkedIn, for example if you «like» our page or if you leave a comment, we may collect certain information about you such as your name and your profile picture. The information we collect depends on what these social networks share with us and the privacy settings you have selected. - When you visit our website, we may collect certain technical data through cookies on your browser or your device as well as your use of the website. This may contain information about your visit to or use of our website, including your device or computer’s IP address and the browser used to access our website. For more information, please refer to section 10 of this Policy.
- When you subscribe to services, details about the contact person, as well as with billing information like billing address, bank account data, or other payment system details, are collected.
- When you create an account on our website, your email address, physical address and payment method are collected.
- When you apply for a job with SLV Expert, we collect information contained in your application file such as your name, your email address, telephone number, work experience and references.
- Any other personal information submitted. Please be advised that if you provide us with personal information regarding other individuals (such as your clients, directors, officers, shareholders or beneficial owners) you must ensure that you have notified them that you are sharing their information with us and have obtained their consent to such disclosure of their information.
3.1. Do we receive personal information through third parties?
We might obtain personal information from third parties, both private and public (such as social media, business partners, etc.). Any personal information that is not collected directly from you will be collected in accordance with the requirements of applicable legislation.
4. How we use your personal information?
We collect, use and divulge personal information for the purposes identified at the time of collection or as permitted by law. This includes, but is not limited to the following means and purposes:
- Respond to request when you contact us.
- Establish and maintain business relationships with our clients, particularly in the context of account administration, invoicing and collection.
- Offer our services especially for the online training.
- To make our website easier to use and to make sure that content is relevant and presented in the most effective way for you and your device.
- Expand our business as well as for marketing purposes, in particular through our newsletter.
- Recruit staff and evaluate your application for employment.

- SLV Expert employees who have the authority and the real need to access personal information to accomplish their task.

In most cases, SLV Expert will obtain directly from you, and with your consent, the personal information necessary. Subject to exceptions provided by law.

8. How and for how long do we retain your personal information?
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes identified in this Policy or for a longer period if required by law. When the intended use of personal information has been completed, the information is destroyed, erased or anonymized, unless we are required by law to retain it.
Information retained outside of Canada
SLV Expert deals with services of suppliers located in Canada. All your personal information is thus stored in Canada.
9. Governance rules and other privacy protections
Reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards and security measures have been put in place and are kept to protect all personal information SLV Expert has in its possession or control against unauthorised access, use, modification and communication as well as the accidental or illegal processing.
SLV Expert has also adopted policies and practices that ensure the protection of your personal information including:
- The designation of a Privacy Officer who oversees compliance with applicable privacy law.
- Internal policies and procedures that define the roles and responsibilities of our employees throughout the information life cycle, limit their access to this information based on the need to have access to it.

- A process for dealing with privacy complaints and requests relating to the protection of personal information, including any confidentiality incident involving personal information.
- Contractual protections and other measures to ensure that the service providers with whom we share personal information maintain adequate safeguards and security standards.
